Thanks to an initiative by Siembratic and Telcosur, high-speed internet access has arrived in Puerto Leguizamo, boosting the advancement of rural internet in Colombia and transforming the lives of an entire community.
Through a home internet hotspot sponsorship program, Siembratic and Telcosur are investing in the future of these young minds, giving them the opportunity to explore the digital world and access a universe of knowledge and opportunities that previously seemed unattainable.
In these increasingly digital times, connectivity has become a fundamental right. However, in rural areas like Puerto Leguizamo, access to quality internet remains a luxury. This lack of connectivity limits the educational, employment, and social opportunities of its residents.
Students in Puerto Leguizamo, for example, faced significant challenges completing their homework and accessing relevant information. The distance from major cities and the lack of resources made learning a difficult task. Aware of this problem, Siembratic and Telcosur joined forces to carry out this ambitious project, which aims to benefit children and young people with high academic achievement. Thus, and through a transparent lottery, they were selected on August 5th.
